Ryan Zimmerman’s hit streak
Posted by Andy on May 11, 2009
There aren't a lot of games on the schedule tonight, but one worth watchnig will be the Nationals at the Giants as Ryan Zimmerman enters with a 28-game hit streak, longest in the majors since Moises Alou's 30-game job in 2007.

I thought that the "tie" game from a few days ago would count towards the day it was completed. meaning that that game "actually occurs" on the date finished... should I assume I have it backwards... and that all stats from the end of that game (to be completed on whatever day) actually count towards May 5th?

You're correct that you have it backwards. There is a post by Andy with some interesting information about different scenarios that resulted from this rule. If you search the blog for "Tim Raines Correction" you can find it. (I tried to post a link, but I'm not able.)
