Traded Eddie Plank and Del Pratt to the New York Yankees. Received Nick Cullop, Joe Gedeon, Fritz Maisel, Les Nunamaker, Urban Shocker and $15,000.

Bob Groom selected by the Cleveland Indians off waivers.

As part of a 3-team trade, traded Lee Magee to the Cincinnati Reds. Received Tim Hendryx from the New York Yankees. In addition, the Cincinnati Reds sent a player to be named later to the New York Yankees. The Cincinnati Reds sent Tommy Clarke (April 25, 1918) to the New York Yankees to complete the trade.
