  Traded Charlie Silvera and cash and another player to be named to the Chicago Cubs. Received a player to be named later. The Chicago Cubs sent Harry Chiti (December 14, 1956) to the New York Yankees to complete the trade.

  Purchased Don Bradey from the Detroit Tigers.
