  Traded Rip Collins, Roger Peckinpaugh, Bill Piercy, Jack Quinn and $100,000 to the Boston Red Sox. Received Bullet Joe Bush, Sad Sam Jones and Everett Scott.

• January 6, 1922

  Traded players to be named later to Vernon (Pacific Coast). Received and Al DeVormer. The New York Yankees sent Chicken Hawks (January 6, 1922), Ray French (January 6, 1922) and Jess Doyle (January 6, 1922) to Vernon (Pacific Coast) to complete the trade.

• February 24, 1922

  Alex Ferguson selected by the Boston Red Sox off waivers.

• April 17, 1922

  Purchased Whitey Witt from the Philadelphia Athletics for $7,500.

• July 23, 1922

  Traded a player to be named later, Chick Fewster, Elmer Miller, Johnny Mitchell and $50,000 to the Boston Red Sox. Received Joe Dugan and Elmer Smith. The New York Yankees sent Lefty O'Doul (September 29, 1922) to the Boston Red Sox to complete the trade.

  Traded Al DeVormer and cash to the Boston Red Sox. Received Harvey Hendrick and George Pipgras.
