Biographical Information

Yoandy Barrios has been a left-handed reliever for Villa Clara. As a rookie, he made 42 appearances with an ERA over 9. In 2007-2008, he was again a LOOGY with 20 2/3 innings over 53 games; he was again rocked, with 22 runs in 20 2/3 innings and a .381 opponent average. He did lead the Serie Nacional in games pitched and broke Orestes González's record for that department. Through two seasons, he had pitched only 36 1/3 IP in 95 games with a 9.91 ERA.

Barrios was 2-2 in 16 games in 2008-2009, lasting just 7 1/3 IP. He gave up 18 hits in 38 at-bats but his ERA fell to 8.59, a small measure of consolation. He did not pitch the next year.
