Víctor Filipini was a member of the Nicaraguan national team briefly. He hit .198/.245/.286 for UCA in 1974, his debut in Nicaragua's amateur league. He improved to .265/.394/.319 for Rivas-Bufalos in 1975 with 23 steals in 30 tries and 51 walks in 75 games; he tied for the league lead in walks. In '76, he was 4 for 20 with 3 walks and a RBI for 5 Estrella and hit .310/.409/.383 for Rivas, stealing 24 in 27 attempts and scoring 58 runs in 72 games. He produced at a .283/.372/.447 clip for Rivas-Esteli in 1977. In 1978, he hit .339/.420/.496 for Esteli, ending his career on a high note. He had hit .290/.387/.392 with 211 runs, 128 RBI and 62 steals (caught 14 times) in 289 games in Nicaragua. He played for Nicaragua in the 1978 Central American and Caribbean Games, when they won a Silver Medal.
