Biographical Information

Catcher Vince Diaz was taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 10th round of the 1975 amateur draft, a couple of picks after pitcher Paul Hartzell. He played in their system from 1976 to 1978, hitting .212/.286/.260 with 3 home runs and 52 RBI in 192 games. His nephew, Gaby Hernandez, pitched professionally for over a decade.
