Biographical Information[edit]

Toshiya Satoh has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Satoh represented Japan in the 2018 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. He was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 2nd round of the 2019 NPB draft, and he hit .228/.296/.316 in 60 games in 2020.[1] He played 62 games with a .205/.284/.386 batting line in 2021, then he hit .214/.260/.315 in 2022 as their starting catcher. Satoh struggled at the plate in 2023 as his batting line was .218/.289/.326, and he was selected into the 2024 NPB All-Star Game. He went 1-for-2 with a single against Kohei Morihara in Game 1, and he shined in Game 2. Satoh was 5-for-6 with 3 doubles and a triple, driving in 2 runs and tied the All-Star record for most hits, doubles and extra-base hits in a game. He was named the Game 2 MVP.
