George Lyons, also called Tony Lyons in some sources, pitched seven games for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1920 and 26 for the St. Louis Browns in 1924. He was born in Bible Grove, IL, east of St. Louis, MO. Tony also had 13 years in the minors, including three seasons each with the Wichita Witches/Jobbers, the Los Angeles Angels and the Columbus Senators.

He managed a semi-pro team. The high school stadium for Nevada (MO) High School is named after George T. Lyons. [1] [2]
