Talk:Carl Thompson (minors)

The only Thompson on the 1946 (or 1947) Modesto Reds was Tommy Thompson, the manager. --Jeff 23:19, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
Carl Thompson was my uncle. I know for a fact he played for the Modesto Reds after he returned from WWII and that he still owned the Stockton Ports in 1973. Please stop changing the article to say otherwise. Kelly A. Siebecke 12:20, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
The Ports did not play in 1973, therefore he could not have owned the team that year. Just because he owned equipment and/or holdings in January of 1973 does not mean he owned a team in 1973. --Jeff 13:50, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
You are unbelieveably wrong. Seriously - think about it...just because a team doesn't play a year (or more), they still have an ownership. IOW, they don't just vaporize into thin air to be recreated at a later time. The name, the property, the rights all still belong to the owner of the team whether they play or not. I'm putting it back and challenge you to give proof that my uncle did not own this team 1971-1973. -- Kelly A. Siebecke 14:02, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
