Steve Collins is a former minor league baseball pitcher who played from 1977 to 1980 in the Boston Red Sox farm system. He was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 14th round of the 1976 amateur draft. He did not sign, then went seventh overall in the January phase of the 1977 amateur draft.

He began his professional career with the Elmira Pioneers in 1977, making 15 appearances with them and going 3-5 with a save and a 6.25 ERA. He gave up 84 hits in only 59 innings. Despite his struggles, he managed to toss one shutout. In 32 games with the Winston-Salem Red Sox in 1978, he went 5-10 with 3 saves and a 4.42 ERA. With the Winter Haven Red Sox in 1979, he went 9-7 with 3 saves and a 3.20 ERA in 33 games. He threw 20 wild pitches and walked 87 in 135 innings, but only allowed two home runs. He finished up his professional career in 1980 with Winter Haven, going 5-7 with 3 saves and a 3.93 ERA in 36 games. Overall, he went 22-29 with a 4.15 ERA in his four year minor league career.
