Stan Galle played 13 games in the majors and 8 seasons in the minors. He also managed one year in the minors.
Born in Milwaukee, WI, he played parts of three seasons with the minor-league Milwaukee Brewers. Galle died on January 28, 2006 in Mobile, AL just days before he would have turned 87 and is buried at Catholic Cemetery in Mobile.
Spring Hill College plays its home games at Stan Galle Field. Galle coached at the college for 27 years. One source [citation needed] calls Stan Galle Field the oldest collegiate baseball field in the country.
He began in professional baseball after attending Bay View High School.
