Save point

A Save Point is a statistic that was invented and used in Japan and South Korea. Adding saves and wins by a relief pitcher, it was the basis for the Fireman of the Year award in Japan for many years. Nippon Pro Baseball discontinued the statistic on an official basis in 2005.
