Right fielder
(Redirected from Right Fielder)
The right fielder (abbreviated RF and numbered 9 in scoring) plays in the outfield, somewhere between the second and first baseman, but much deeper.
What sets right fielders apart from other outfield positions is that they are charged with the responsibility of preventing runners from advancing from first base to third on a hit. Since the throw from right field to third is fairly long, right fielders generally have stronger arms than left fielders.
