Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Dick Manchester played in the minor leagues from 1912 to 1920 and from 1924 to 1931. He collected at least 1,061 hits in his 17-year career. Despite not being a high-average hitter, in 1928 with the Moline Plowboys, he hit .304 in 92 games.
Manchester managed the Moline Plowboys in 1928 and 1929, the Dubuque Tigers for part of the 1930 season, and the Waterloo Hawks for part of 1931.
