Biographical Information[edit]

Raymond Hyde pitched in the minors and for Team USA.

Hyde was All-Northwest College Conference in 1953-1954. He helped Team USA to a Silver Medal in the 1955 Pan American Games. He turned pro in 1958 with the Lewiston Broncs and was 12-6 with a 5.36 ERA while hitting .338/.386/.431. He was 11th in the Northwest League in wins and his average would have put him in the top 5 had he qualified. In 1959, he was at 10-9, 4.56 for the Broncs while batting .241/.323/.276. He fell to 0-3, 5.18 for the 1960 Salem Senators to end his pro career. He had gone 22-18, 4.96 in 60 games in the minors (47 starts, 25 complete games) and had a 1.72 WHIP and 178 K in 341 IP. He hit .290 and slugged .351.

He later taught 5th and 6th grade in US Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Germany (1963-1992).
