Ramón Luis Nieves

Biographical Information[edit]

Ramón Nieves caught for the Puerto Rican national team that won Bronze in the 1967 Pan American Games. In the Puerto Rican amateur league, he hit .311 for his career and set a record with four homers in a postseason game, in 1981. He was elected to the Puerto Rican Amateur Hall of Fame in 1993. His number 15 was retired by Vega Baja in 2017; he died later that year.
