Biographical Information[edit]
Third baseman George Armstrong played in the minor leagues from 1920 to 1927. He spent most of his career (1921-1925) in the American Association. Perhaps his best campaigns were 1921, when he hit .324 with 30 doubles and 10 triples in 144 games for the St. Paul Saints and 1924, when he hit .317 with 182 hits and 39 doubles in 140 games for the Kansas City Blues. Per records available, he hit .289 with 627 hits, 110 doubles, 31 triples and 28 home runs in 593 games.
One source says he played a year as Armstrong for the Victoria Tyees of the Northwest International League in 1919.[1]
