Outfielder Miriëldo Trinidad hit .276/.317/.328 for Groot Kwartier in the 2008 Curacao league, but still made the Dutch Antilles national team for the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, the first event the country competed in for over a decade. Trinidad was 3 for 13 with a walk, double, run and a RBI as the Antilles qualified for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.

In 2009, Trinidad slumped to .225/.295/.366 in Curacao. He still was a late addition for the Antilles squad in the 2009 World Cup.
