Biographical Information[edit]
Miguel de la Hoz was the classic backup middle infielder, playing roughly equal amounts of games at second base, third base, and shortstop, and never getting as many as 200 at-bats in any one season. He played nine seasons during the 1960s, and had his best year with the bat in 1964 when he hit .291 with the Milwaukee Braves. That year, 1964, he was a teammate of Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, Felipe Alou and Joe Torre.
He appeared in 15 games in 1960 for the Toronto Maple Leafs who won 100 games.
