Biographical Information[edit]
Mike McDonald was a minor league catcher, also seeing time at first and third base. He was also a college coach.
McDonald played college baseball at Bradley University. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1970 and spent two season in their organization.
After his minor league career, McDonald became the head baseball coach at Morton High School for 24 years. He amassed a record of 452-313-4 and won the Class AA state championship in 1984.
After his high school coaching, he was an assistant at Illinois Central College and the head baseball coach at Eureka College for two seasons.
He is a member of the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame, Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the Spoon River College Athletics Hall of Fame.
