Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Hollimon was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 16th round of the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Steve Taylor for $5,000 and made his pro debut that summer. Hollimon hit .294 for the lowest mark on Team USA when they won their first World Youth Championship, in 1998, but led the team with 13 runs, one ahead of MVP Tony Richie. He was back with the US for the 2007 Baseball World Cup, backing up Jayson Nix at 2B and Brad Bixler at SS; he was 0-for-7 with a walk and a run, handling four chances without an error.
