Biographical Information

Luis Rodríguez was an outfielder and designated hitter who hit exactly 100 home runs in Cuba. In 1991-1992, he led the Cuban Serie Nacional's eastern division with 41 RBI for Holguín. He had 15 intentional walks in 1997-1998 to lead the Serie Nacional. In 2001-2002, when Holguín won their only title (as of 2011), Luis hit .341 with 23 doubles. He wasn't the only Luis Rodriguez to play a key role in the title run - Luis Miguel Rodríguez was a top pitcher for the squad. Overall, he played 13 seasons and produced at a .312/.419/.488 rate. He fielded only .928.
