St. Petersburg, Russia

St. Petersburg, or Sankt-Peterburg in Russian, is the second largest city in Russia, after Moscow. It is located in northwestern Russia, on the Gulf of Finland, an inlet of the Baltic Sea, close to the border of Finland. It was known as Petrograd from 1914 to 1924 and Leningrad from 1924 to 1991.
