Biographical Information[edit]

Third baseman Kal Segrist played in the minor leagues in 1914 and 1915 and from 1920 to 1929. From 1921 to 1925, he played for the Dallas Submarines/Steers. He was particularly consistent from 1920 to 1927, having no less than 140 and no more than 214 total bases in any given season. The consistency was especially notable from 1922 to 1927, when he had between 133 and 168 hits, 26 and 39 doubles, 2 and 5 triples and 2 and 5 home runs each year. In 1922, he hit .316 with 165 hits and 39 doubles in 150 games and in 1925, he hit .302 with 133 hits and 28 doubles in 123 games.

He managed the Omaha Buffaloes to begin the 1927 campaign, but was replaced by Barney Burch. He led the Midland Colts for the first part of the 1929 season, being replaced by John King.

His son, Kal Segrist, played in the major leagues in 1952 and 1955.
