Biographical Information[edit]
Juan Jiménez was a top Colombian second baseman and was with the Colombian national team in the 1980 Amateur World Series, 1983 Pan American Games and 1986 Amateur World Series. He was scouted by the Boston Red Sox at the same time as Jackie Gutiérrez but turned down a contract with hopes to become an engineer. He was noted for his ability to hit doubles. He died of COVID-19.
