Biographical Information[edit]
Second baseman Joseph Wojciechowski played in the minor leagues from 1937 to 1940 and from 1946 to 1947. Save for 1940, when he was with the Grand Rapids Dodgers, he spent his entire career with the Superior Blues. He began his career with 15 home runs and 25 doubles in 120 games, then he hit .310/.388/.459 with 9 home runs, 73 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 113 games in 1938. In 1939, he hit .327 with 12 home runs in 111 games and in 1940, he hit .303 with 20 home runs, slugging .518. From 1941 to early 1946, he was in the United States military, serving during World War II. He returned with a bang, hitting .374/.474/.564 with 25 doubles, 12 triples and 13 stolen bases in 93 games in 1946. In 1947, his final campaign, he hit .251/.388/.359 with 81 walks (to 32 strikeouts) in 110 games.
Overall, Wojciechowski hit .299 with 702 hits, 61 home runs, 121 doubles and 40 triples in 653 games over 6 seasons.
