Biographical Information[edit]
Jony Olivo (also listed as Emilio Olivo, Johnny Olivo, Johny Olivo and Jhonny Olivo) pitched for the Dominican national team in the 1978 Central American and Caribbean Games. He went 1-1 with a 2.75 ERA for the Dominican entry that won the Silver Medal in the 1979 Pan American Games and remained with them for the 1982 Amateur World Series. He was 0-1 for the Dominicans in the 1984 Amateur World Series. In eight innings, he allowed six runs, but only one was earned. That put him 4th in the event in ERA behind Dong-ryeul Sun, Sheng-Hsiung Chuang and Mark Talarico. He was with them for the 1984 Olympics as well.
