Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Heximer played in the minor leagues from 1946 to 1949.
With the Kingston Ponies in 1946, he hit .328 with 156 hits and 40 doubles in 116 games. The doubles not only led the Border League but would be the league's all-time record; he also led in hits. In 1947, back with Kingston, he batted .317 with 165 hits, 24 doubles and 17 triples in 125 matches. Between Kingston and the Hartford Chiefs in 1948, Heximer batted .296 with 108 hits in 92 games. He wrapped up his career with the Quebec Braves in 1949, batting .275 in 63 games.
Overall, Heximer hit .309 with 496 hits in 396 games.
He served with the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II.
