Hahn Air Base, Rhineland-Palatinate

Hahn Air Base was a frontline facility used by NATO/US Air Force during the Cold War. It is located 10 km south of Kirchberg in central Germany.
The base was opened in 1951 by occupying French troops; the US took over the installations in 1952. The base was used from 1952 until it was turned over to the German Government in 1993, then closed down in 2012.
Glenn Hubbard was born here.
