Biographical Information

Dad Gimlin was a minor league player and manager.

Among his stops as a player (primarily an outfielder) were Leadville (1898), Ogden (1901), the Salt Lake City Elders (1904) and the Spokane Indians (1906). He hit .309 and slugged .394 for the 1904 Elders, tying for fifth in the Pacific National League with 10 triples. He managed Ogden (1901), Salt Lake City (1904), the Ogden Lobsters (1905), Boise Irrigators (parts of 1912 and 1913), Ogden Canners (part of 1913, 1914) and Ogden Gunners (part of 1926). Off the diamond, he was a conductor for the Ogden Southern Pacific Railroad.
