He served in the US Army during World War II. A high-average hitter, he began his career with a .361 mark, with a .509 slugging percentage, in 116 games for the Danville Dans in 1951. Though just 24 years old and a professional rookie, Hall replaced Frank Piet as the Dans' manager partway through that season. In 1953, between two teams -- including 9 with the Open-level San Diego Padres -- he hit .334, but just .250 at the Open level. In 1954, he slipped to .298 in 148 games, a couple spent at the Open level. 1955, his final campaign, saw him hit .301 in 130 games between three clubs, from available records.
Overall, Hall hit .336 in 535 games over five seasons. He also went 5-7 in 23 appearances on the mound, per available records.
