Corner infielder Douglas Skiles was 0 for 2 for Sweden in the 2003 European Championship. He hit .271/.333/.322 for the 2004 Rättvik Butchers. He coached for the Swedish national team in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2007 European Championship, 2009 Baseball World Cup and 2010 European Championship.

In 2010, Skiles was hired as the New York Yankees' scout for Europe. He later was the Los Angeles Dodgers' Europe scout, signing Pascal Amon.
