Clemente González

Clemente González was a shortstop for the Cuban national team. He hit .267 in the 1939 Amateur World Series as Cuba won its first world title. [1] He hit .395/~.422/.488 in the 1941 Amateur World Series, when Cuba finished 2nd, but he led the event with 17 hits and was 7th in average, just ahead of future major leaguer Chucho Ramos. His 11 runs were more than anyone else on the batting leaderboard but 3 behind teammate and future MLB infielder Tony Ordenana. [2]
