Biographical Information[edit]
Chuck Carter pitched for the Appalachian League Bluefield Orioles in 1984.
Carter was used exclusively as a relief pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles affiliate. In 10 2/3 innings over 6 games, Carter went 0-0 with a 3.38 earned run average and a 1.594 WHIP. Among his teammates was future major league catcher Jeff Tackett.
Carter and his wife, Susan, died in a car accident in the early morning hours of June 7, 2009. They left behind two young children, 11-year old Charlie and 9-year old Caroline. At the time of his death, Chuck was working as a groundskeeper supervisor for the Duval County school system. He also helped coach his son in a church baseball league.
