Biographical Information[edit]
Carlos Dickson caught for the Venezuelan national team in the 1951 Amateur World Series [1] and 1952 Amateur World Series. [2] He turned pro in 1953, hitting .319/.373/.340 in 22 games for the Havana Cubans and .225/.267/.239 in 28 for the Texas City Texans. In '54, he batted .304/.337/.387 with 83 RBI for the Roswell Rockets, the team for which Joe Bauman famously hit 72 dingers. He also pitched four games. He finished his pro career with a .296/.331/.364 batting line with 92 RBI in 161 games, fielding .971 at catcher and .903 in the outfield.
