Biographical Information[edit]

Carl Vanthillo played in the Belgian First Division and for the Belgian national team. He is the father of Nick Vanthillo. [1]

Carl was on Belgium's team in the 1986 Amateur World Series. [2] Belgian stats prior to 1988 are not available online as of 1/21/2025; in '88, he hit .308/.325/.449 for the Antwerp Royal Greys. [3] He followed with a .311/.365/.427 line in 1989 and .356/.420/.378 in 1990; Antwerp won titles both years. He then hit .259/.330/.329 in 1991, .317/.380/.540 in 1992 and .273/.333/.341 in 1993.

In the 1993 European Championship, he batted .188/.350/.250 with 3 runs and 3 RBI in 5 games for Belgium. [4] He hit .402/.468/.433 for the 1994 Greys but in a high-offense aluminum-bat league, he did not make the top 10 in average. He fell to .286/.397/.321 in 1995 and .156/.326/.188 in 1996 then was 1 for 4 in 1997. He rebounded to .333/.466/.462 for the 1998 Brasschaat Braves and won a title with them in 1999, when he batted .375/.423/.514. In his final season, 2000, he hit .310/.333/.397.
