Biographical Information[edit]
After his cup of coffee in the majors, Willy Fetzer became a college coach. He was 128-75-5 as the baseball coach at Davidson College (1915-1919), North Carolina State University (1920) and the University of North Carolina (1921-1925). Among the players he worked with were George Murray, Joe DeBerry, Rufe Clarke, Fred Johnston, Mule Shirley, Buck Stanton and Herm Holshouser. He also coached basketball (18-11 from 1916-18) at Davidson and football (61-28-7) at Davidson (1915-1918), NC State (1919-1920) and North Carolina (1921-1925).
