Biographical Information[edit]
In addition to his playing career, Mike Sullivan umpired one National League game in 1889 and two in 1897.
After his playing career, he was active in Democratic Party politics in Massachusetts, serving in the state legislature from 1899 to 1902 and in the state senate in 1903, In 1904, he was elected to the Governor's Council, a body that assisted the Governor in his executive functions. In 1906, he announced his intention to run for Congress, but died before the election was held.
