Beat writer
(Redirected from Beat reporter)
A Beat writer or beat reporter is a journalist who follows a team for the entire season, usually traveling with the team outside its home city, and typically files game reports and columns of notes on the inner workings of the team. Many great baseball writers got their start at beat writers. Many members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America are beat writers.
