Biographical Information[edit]
Álvaro Dacaret pitched for the Guatemalan national team in the 2003 Pan American Games, 2006 Central American Games (Silver Medal) and 2008 Americas Baseball Cup. In the latter event, he lost a start to Jo Matumoto and Brazil, giving up 6 hits, 5 walks and 7 runs (4 earned) in 6 2/3 IP. He gave up 5 hits, 3 walks and 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief in a 15-7 loss to Aruba. He was second on the team in innings, 2/3 behind Hugo Pivaral. He later switched to softball and played for Guatemala in the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games.
