The 1884 World's Series took place the year that "Old Hoss" Radbourn won 59 games and then won all three World's Series games. After the season he was probably tired, his total innings pitched including the Series was a record 700.7.
This was the first World's Series, precursor to the modern World Series, and was played as an exhibition series.
