Bah! Humbug!

Wow that's impressive! Exciting!
Question: Yesterday all 9 starters got a hit for the Twins, and 8 of the 9 scored. When's the last time something like that happened? How often does it occur? Sorry to ask it here, but I couldn't find an e-mail address to send to the bloggers. Also, I'm not sure how to look that up in the Play Index.

The Marlins love the drama. In their 2 postseason appearances, they have 5 walk-off hits. Games 1 and 2 vs. the Giants in 1997, and the Edgar Renteria walkoff in Game 7 of the WS. Interestingly, Renteria was the hero in the Marlins' first and final postseason games that year because of Devon White's failures. In both games, White came up with the bases loaded and 1 out but grounded into force plays at the plate. Both failures set up Renteria's heroics.
In 2003, the Marlins victimized the Giants again, this time in Game 3. Game 4 of the WS gave the fish another walkoff with Alex Gonzalez's well-placed HR.
One of the most exciting plays of the Marlins' postseason in 2003 wasn't a walkoff hit, but a perfect throw to the plate to clinch the Giants series. Conine fielded a base hit to LF and uncorked a perfect throw to Pudge, nailing the potential tying run at the plate. Awesome ending to a series.

#2 - I'm guessing that it has occurred often. The first game that came to mind was the high-scoring Phillies-Cubs game on 5/17/1979. I looked at the boxscore, and sure enough, all 9 Phillies starters got a hit and 8 scored. The Cubs didn't achieve the same feat, because starter Dennis Lamp was knocked out in the top of the 1st and didn't bat. However, all 8 position players for the Cubs got a hit and scored that day.

#2 I'll post a full list later today.

there are even 44 instances where every starter gets an RBI
http://bbref.com/pi/shareit/bHWZB
but there is incredibly ONE game where all 18 starters (including 2 DH´s) of both teams recorded a hit and scored a run

[T]he [Marlins'] last 4 walk-off wins have all come in the last week . . . [and t]he Padres have the most walk-off wins so far this year, with 9 already
. . . to make up for neither team's ever having had a player hit for the cycle.

The Phillies had three walk-off wins in a row July 8-10, all against Cincinnati. All were in extra innings. In order, they were a game in which they blew the lead in the ninth, one in which the Reds blew the lead in the ninth, and one that was 0-0 after 9. The first two ended with walk-off homers.

[...] Marlins’ incredible week of walk-off wins (Baseball-Reference). Good on the Fish, but did you know that the Padres lead MLB with nine walkoff wins in 2010? [...]
