Think anyone will better Votto's mark this season?

There are a lot of great names on this list. Ike Davis was somewhat a surprise. Anybody know what the record is for a rookie?
On a side note, I love the avatars. It's nice to finally put a face with some of you bloggers.

When I said "It's nice to finally put a face WITH SOME OF YOU BLOGGERS" I meant that because not all of you have avatars, not that it isn't nice to see some of your faces! 🙂 Thought I should clear that up.

Too late Bryan. Some of us are terribly offended.

What's the all-time record for this? I've been wondering lately.

As an Angles fan I was surprised not to see Torii Hunter on this list. He always seems to be on base at the moment. I checked out his game logs and he has a 13 game streak during which his OBP is .536! Maybe he can keep it going a bit longer but not sure anyone will better Votto. Hamilton and Teixeira are about half way there though...

I wonder which streaks might be longer if reaching on an error was included as a time on base.

Hafner makes the list twice with a 20 gamer and a 22 gamer that starts 3 days later. I love his line in the first streak: .197/.314/.324. Talk about doing the bare minimum to make this list; in those 20 games he reached base more than once in 9 of them. In one game the streak was extended only because he reached on an error. Meanwhile in the next streak that starts 3 days later his line is .338/.467/.486. Even in his streaks he's streaky.

Oh, so ROE are included as a time on base? I just assumed they were not but didn't bother to check.

I think ROE are not included in officially recognized reached-base streaks, though (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
Also, this may not be the place, but it would be great to be able to check what the longest reached-base streaks were for the players of the 1920s and 1930s. Currently, this is not possible. I'm assuming this is because the BR-PI needs ROE data to make that search happen, and doesn't have that data for games of the '20s and '30s.
In the context of how much I've been enjoying the BR-PI overall, this is a very small nitpick, of course. Just a suggestion.

Evan Longoria had a 22 game streak that ended on 5/7/10
Then a 32 game streak that started on 5/10/10.
Even if you put them together and included the couple of days/games in between, it still wouldn't beat the 58 games put up by Joey Votto.
July 8th, 2010 at 6:39 pm
And Votto's was ended on a 0-for-1 day when he argued strikes or something, wasn't it?
July 8th, 2010 at 11:20 pm
I should probably know this, but what's the all-time record?
July 9th, 2010 at 1:48 am
All-time record is 84 games, held by Ted Williams.

little off topic
Joey Votto was hit by pitch 4 times this season and the Reds lost all 4 games.
