Every single one of these streaks started at the beginning of the year, and the top 4 are all active. (Jeter didn't play yesterday.)
Cantu's streak dates back to last year and is now at 17 games. Looking at streaks from anytime in 2009-2010, he still has a long way to go to catch Ryan Zimmerman's streak of 30 from last season:

I was wondering if you could do a piece on team hitting streaks.
For the 1st time in 13 years, the Pirates have gone at least 6 games without getting 10 hits in any game-- and have a winning record in those games. They are 4-2 in the current span without a 10 hit game
(The last time was April 17-25 in 1997 with an 8 game streak and a 5-3 record)

Below are the longest such streaks for teams dating back to 2009. Few teams have a very good record in such streaks. It's one thing to go 4-2 in 6 such games but over longer streaks it's tough to maintain a good overall performance.

Cantu has a shockingly low .288 average during his streak. Usually you see numbers atleast in the 300's. He must not have many multi hit games
