I was just reading Jay Gibbons' letter to all 30 major league teams and noticed this nearly-worthless but interestingly quirky stat: most seasons batting exactly .277 over the last 5 years.

Other notable marks of consistency:
John Lowenstein hit exactly .242 three times in four years (1974, 1975, 1977); in the first two of those years, he had an OBP of .313 each year.
Vinny Castilla had back-to-back seasons (1996-97) where he hit 40 HR with 113 RBI and a .304 BA

Cecil was sure consistent. What happened in 1996? Was there an experiment of putting jelly doughnuts on 2nd base that I missed?
What's really freaky (and making this post relevant with consistency) is that the batter on both of Fat Cecil's stolen bases was Melvin Nieves.
