Most home runs hit by an active pitcher

I was stunned to recently hear (via ESPN) that Carlos Zambrano has 19 career homers. I had to look up the list:

Hmm, Jason Schmidt is still considered active? Russ Ortiz is back, and has another HR this year already!

Owings is by far the best hitting pitcher in recent memory. I remember watching him hit clean-up at Georgia Teach.

That's an impressive BB/K ratio for Zambrano.

I'll be honest, I'm more shocked by the fact that Hampton has 7 stolen bases attempted, and both Hampton & Smoltz have 3 steals each! any active pitchers have more of either stat?

Schmidt isn't retired, just badly injured. I'm sure he will through another major league pitch someday.

History suggests that, in the process of missing his second full season, Schmidt will not make it back to the majors as a pitcher. I hope I'm wrong, but the odds are heavily against him unfortunately.

Jason Schmidt is set to start tonight for the Dodgers

Yeah, I noticed that today and felt my cheeks start to burn.

Don't forget Hampton played in Colorado, and had most of those HR in one season (pretty sure he holds the single season record)
Not on the list but Ankiel is actually the best hitting pitcher
