By request, here are the leaders among active pitchers for stolen bases:

So, wow, Adam Eaton can do something. OK, that's a little harsh, because he's still a better major-league pitcher than I am.
Another 22 active pitchers have 1 stolen base. See the full list here.
And here is the full list of all active pitchers with at least 1 caught stealing:

Of course players are "active" until they get set in the database as retired. Many of these guys (from Estes on down) are actually retired but haven't officially announced as such.

Thanks! I had no idea Brocail was ever a starter.

Ponson has pitched for KC this season; not sure why he's only shown through 2008.
July 19th, 2009 at 5:37 pm
Ponson hasn't played a game in an NL park this year. So he hasn't appeared in a lineup in 2009. That's my guess as to why he's only shown through 2008.

Even if Ponson were playing in the NL and had attempted a stolen base, unless he actually had one this year, I still think that would say 2008. When it's counting seasons, the report back shows the range of years in the total reported, not the POSSIBLE range.
July 19th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
No, because all those guys with 1 CS still show a range of seasons, even though their only CS obviously only occurred in 1 season. And on quick scan, those ranges appear to be their actual career spans.
