In 1999, Zimmer served as an interim manager for the New York Yankees while Joe Torre recovered from surgery. He managed 36 games going 21-15. As part of our company's policy, we include stints for suspensions or leaves of absences in the primary manager's records rather than split them out for the interim manager.
