I see that at the moment, Gavin Floyd has allowed 7 runs in his start today, but only 1 earned run.
Here are the leaders for most runs allowed in the game while allowing only 1 earned run.

A true example of defensive futility, I'm guessing. To add to that, I decided to check on the most runs given up in a game (by a team) with no earned runs. That (dis)honor goes to the 1985 Astros, giving up SIXTEEN unearned runs in a 16-4 loss to the Mets. Worse yet: They had to play another game after that 5-error debacle.
